Rhytidectomy -   "Face Lift"
As people age, the effects of gravity, stress, and exposure to the sun become apparent in the features of their face. A facelift can help make a person appear younger by removing excess fat, tightening facial muscles, and re-draping facial and neck skin.

Reasons To Consider
  1. Your face and neck have begun to sag.
  2. You have excess skin around your jaw and cheek area.
During a face lift, incisions are made above the hairline near the temples and continue around the ear to the back of the scalp. The surgeon then removes excess fat, and tightens the muscles and sagging tissue. Excess skin is then trimmed, and the incisions are closed with stitches.

RECOVERING FROM THIS SURGERY

After a facelift, the pain and discomfort are usually minimal and easily taken care of with medication. Bandages can be removed after a few days, and stitches will be removed after about five days. You should be up and about in a few days following the surgery, but don't plan any strenuous activities. Your face may distorted from the swelling and bruising, but this should all subside a few weeks down the road.
