Liposuction generally takes 1-2
hours to perform, depending on the extent of the procedure. A
tiny incision is made near the area being treated, and a thin
narrow tube is then inserted into the body. The tube is used
to vacuum the fat layer beneath the skin, and is pushed and
pulled back and forth to break up the fat cells and suction
them out.
RECOVERING FROM THIS SURGERY
After the procedure, bruising and swelling might hide
the success of the operation, but results should be
immediately apparent within a few days. You may experience
pain, burning, swelling, bleeding, and temporary numbness in
or around the area treated, but this should all subside a few
days to a week after surgery. To control swelling and to help
your skin adjust to its new figure, you will be fitted with a
snug elastic garment to wear over the treated region for a few
weeks. |
